Here is the basic information you'll need when partnering with a Nurse Registry:

□ CNA license and/or Home Health Aide Certificate
□ CPR card in person (can’t be completed online) through an American Red Cross, American Heart Assoc., or American Safety & Health Inst. 
□ HIV/AIDS certificate (completed within last 24 months)

□ Assistance with self-administered medications (minimum 2 hours)
□ Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (updated after 7/1/23)
□ Alzheimer’s 1hr Training is mandatory through the (Department of Elder Affairs)
□ Driver’s License or Government issued photo ID

□ Car Insurance Card (if willing to transport clients)
□ Professional Caregiver Liability Insurance; CNA and HHA pricing is different (optional)
□ A level II background check must have been completed within the past five years.  If you have had a lapse in employment more than 90 days, the background check will need to be repeated. 
  1. New Screenings through AHCA –  $80 up to $110 depending on the site you choose
  2. If you are already in the clearing house and wish to update your background - $12.18 up to $15.46
□ Prior to placement on the registry, you will need a statement from your current physician that you are “Free/clear of communicable  and Fit to work.” Most registries will have a form available to take to your physician.
□   EIN (FREE HERE via IRS)



Most Nurse Registries partner with CNA/HHA's as independent contractors for referral opportunities.  ​
  • Licensed CNA’s follow the link to learn how to become licensed.
  • Certified Home Health Aides (HHA’s) – HHA's must have a certificate with the approved number of hours, from an approved school by the State of Florida Department of Education.
